Over the weekend we fished extra light tackle with Benjie and Gabriel from Boston.
They caught 2 big tarpon on 12 lb tackle, sailfish on 6,8 and 12 lb tackle, numerous mahi and bonito, a kingfish and 2 tuna all on 6lb tackle.

We had Michael out today. He caught a sailfish, a nice mahi, a shark, 2 grey grouper and a scamp grouper.
Tonight we fished with Orlando. He caught 5 tarpon to 180 pounds.

Tonight we fished with 3 guys from Minnesota and 1 from Kansas. They caught 6 tarpon to 120 pounds and a big ladyfish.

Today we fished with Ben, Dominick and Ron. They caught 2 sailfish, 5 mahi, a nice kingfish, 3 bonito, 3 cobia 40 to 50 lbs and a permit.

We just got back from the 7th annual Cayman Islands Swordfish Challenge.
The Evinrude powered 33 foot Dusky More Time with Capt Tom Guyton took first place with 3 swordfish of 207, 66 and 70 pounds. Second place was Capt Davie Ebanks aboard Strokin with swordfish of 88 and 91 pounds. Third was Down the Hatch with Capt Ron Hatch. They had 2 weight fish of 61 and 70 pounds, plus the only release points, with one release.
We were in charge of science and research with Capt Buster McLean, Travis Moore, Katie, Capt Abie Raymond and myself.
We weighed a swordfish of 244.4 pounds and satellite tagged a health 70 inch, approximately 160 pound swordfish.
Capt Charles Ebanks aboard Hog Heaven caught the only swordfish from Grand Cayman an 89 pound fish. All the rest were caught from Cayman Brac.

Today Frates, 12, and his dad caught 3 big female sailfish, a 200 pound hammerhead shark and a 15 pound jack crevalle.
The tarpon got away, so they will have to come back.

Yesterday we caught 9 mahi around a lobster float. Then we tried some failed bottom fishing. Then the rains came, but we beat it to the dock.
Then last night Michael caught his first two tarpon, both over 100 pounds.
Today Frates (12) caught his first mahi, 48 inches and his first sailfish, over 7 feet.

Today was typical April action. We caught 2 mahi, a barracuda, a bonito, a small shark, a 32 lb king and 6 sailfish. The biggest suprise was catching a 60 inch sailfish in April.
